Australian Rosellas created by Gordon Hanley
Gordon Hanley spent most of his childhood in the bush, where he established a love and fascination of living things. Following this, he studied at the University of Queensland obtaining degrees in Biology and Geography. He later took up teaching and for ten years taught and lectured in these areas. During this time, Gordon studied watercolour and worked on his technique to establish himself as a master of this medium. A committed conservationist, Gordon’s work is inspired by the natural world. Partly by his scientific curiosity and partly by his feeling for the wildlife he paints and his desire to communicate this feeling to others.
This rare combination of artist and biologist gives Gordon’s wildlife art an exciting dimension that sets him apart from others. With this he creates astonishing detail and breath-taking compositions. Gordon’s work has a realism and aesthetic beauty attained by few wildlife artists in the world today.
This painting has been reproduced as a very large Limited Edition coffee table book which makes it a great investment.
